Nevada Youth Empowerment Project

Student Project - The Nevada Youth Empowerment Project (NYEP) is a Reno-based nonprofit that supports young women facing challenges such as unstable home environments, addiction, and other hardships. Their mission is to bring the community together to create better opportunities, resources, and education for these young women. The goal of this project was to apply our design skills to a local nonprofit that could benefit from a refreshed and more impactful brand identity.

Design Thinking: The nonprofit’s current logo was outdated and difficult to read. When rebranding, the color palette was the one element I chose to keep consistent. It had a calm, cohesive feel, and with so many other changes happening within the brand, maintaining one familiar element helped create a smooth transition from old to new. The new logo was designed to reflect a woman's face moving from dark to light—symbolizing the transformation these young women experience with the support of the organization. To stay consistent with that theme, I introduced an organic, wavy pattern throughout the branding to keep the overall look calm, welcoming, and supportive.
